For example, if the swimming leg of a triathlon cannot be performed, then swimming is replaced by running.

Important note: in case of alternative contingency plans being implemented in a league race, the scoring applies as normal and it is calculated in the same way – based on time.

  • The Lake Plastira
  • How to Get Here

The Lake Plastira

Lake Plastira is located on the Nevropoli plateau in the western part of the Karditsa Prefecture. It is an artificial lake, created through human intervention. It was formed in 1959 with the completion of the dam at its southern end, at the source of the Tavropos (or Megdovas) River. The idea for its construction belonged to Nikolaos Plastiras, and it bears his mark, as he passionately supported and promoted its creation from the moment the idea was conceived until his death.

It is one of the rare cases where human intervention contributes to the creation of a natural environment of unparalleled beauty, establishing the lake as one of the most famous tourist destinations. Whether snow-covered or lush green, in autumn or spring, Lake Plastira offers breathtaking views in a symphony of colors, landscapes, and sensations.
