The Municipality of Epidavros, the Prefecture of Peloponnese, the Regional Unity of Argolis, the Marathon association of Argolis, SEGAS and the whynot Co. organize the 5th of May 2019 a running event with the name Epidavrios Dromos. It has been successfully organized for the past nine years, and it connects to well-known archeological sites, the Small Theater of Ancient Epidaurus and the Ancient Stadium of Asklepios Epidauros.

Race course description
Distance: 14.70km, Elevation Gain: 371m

The race starts at the Small Theater of Epidaurus, where athletes will have to present themselves at least half an hour before the start. The route goes from the archeological site, to the port of Epidaurus through the village and then towards Ligourio. At the 8.5th km, the trail path begins and it lasts for about 2.5km. After the end of the trail, the athletes run for about 2.5km on asphalt before proceeding on a dirt road leading to the Ancient Stadium where they finish.

Distance: 5km, Elevation Gain (

The race starts at the central square of Lygourio, where athletes will have to present themselves at least half an hour before the start. The route is easy and almost the first 4km of asphalt. Athletes shortly before reaching the archeological site of the Ancient Theater, they turn left to follow the dirt road leading to the finish.

The route begins and ends in the Archaeological site of the Ancient Theater.

The route begins and ends in the Archaeological site of the Ancient Theater.

The route begins and ends in the Archaeological site of the Ancient Theater.

Registrations:
Registrations must be made electronically at www.why-n.gr no later than 29/04/2019.

Registrations can also be made at Registration services ONLY on Saturday – Ancient Epidaurus & Ligourio (see schedule details).

No registrations of participation will be accepted after this deadline.

 

Remarks – Awards

There is no overall division in kid’s races.

In order to have an awarding category, at least three athletes are required; otherwise, the age group class will be incorporated with the next one.The first athletes of the overall divisions cannot be awarded in its age group class as well.

Waiver and release of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement

By registering to this activity- race, I hereby agree to and make the following contractual representations pursuant to this Waiver and Release of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement, for myself, and on behalf of my spouse, children, parents, guardians, heirs and next of kin, and any legal and personal representatives, executors, administrators, successors and assigns:

  1. I hereby represent that (i) I am in good health and in proper physical condition to participate in the activity- race; and (ii) I am not under the influence of alcohol or any illicit or prescription drugs which would in any way impair my ability to safely participate in the activity- race. I agree that it is my sole responsibility to determine whether I am sufficiently fit and healthy enough to participate in the activity- race.
  2. I understand and acknowledge that the physical and mental rigors associated with the activity- race are inherently dangerous and represent an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits and condition. I understand that participation in the activity- race involves risks and dangers which include, without limitation, the potential for serious bodily injury, sickness and disease, permanent disability, paralysis and loss of life; loss of or damage to equipment/property; exposure to extreme conditions and circumstances; accidents, contact or collision with other participants, spectators, vehicles, or natural or manmade objects; dangers arising from adverse weather conditions; imperfect conditions existing on the property where the activity- race take place; equipment failure; inadequate safety measures; participants of varying skill levels; situations beyond the immediate control of the organizers of the activity- race; and other undefined risks and dangers which may not be readily foreseeable or are presently unknown. I understand that these Risks may be caused in whole or in part by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the activity- race, or the acts, inactions, or negligence of the Released Parties. I hereby expressly assume all such Risks and responsibility for any damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses which I incur as a result of my participation in the activity- race.
  3. I agree to be familiar with and to abide by all rules and regulations established for the activity- race in which I participate. I also accept sole responsibility for my own conduct and actions while participating in this activity- race and the condition and adequacy of any equipment that I might own and supply in conjunction with this activity- race.
  4. I hereby release, waiver, and covenant not to sue, and further agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties, together with the organizers, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, hosts, venue and property owners upon which the activity- race take place, law enforcement agencies and other public entities providing support for the activity- race, and each of their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, officers, directors, partners, shareholders, members, agents, employees and volunteers, with respect to any liability, claim(s), demand(s), cause(s) of action, damage(s), loss or expense, including court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees of any kind or nature (“Liability”), which may arise out of, result from, or relate to my participation in the activity- race, including claims for Liability caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Released Parties. I further agree that if, despite this Agreement, I, or anyone on my behalf, make a claim for Liability against any of the Released Parties, I will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless each of the Released Parties from any such Liability which any may be incurred as a result of such a claim.
  5. 5. I grant permission to the organizers to take photographs of me and to publish and use my photograph in any and all publications for any lawful purpose including, without limitation, publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.
