Athletes : 2000 and before

Relay: Men/mixed (teams either by men or mixed men-women) and Women (only women)

Swim: 2km

The start will be given from Vagionia beach. The athletes will swim clockwise on the next three red buoys (Β1–B2–B3), right and through the two lighthouses (L1), before they exit on the side of the soccer field, where the transition zone is located.
Course = Β1 – B2 – B3 – L1 – Exit

Bike: 92km (elevation: 1,776m)

The cycling route is two loops of approximately 92km with a positive elevation of more than 1770m. On leaving the transition zone, athletes turn left onto the road and left again at the next intersection (Tavern Perivoli).  When they reach the Epidaurus-Methana round-about (after approximately 1.5km), they turn left heading to the village of Koliaki. The route for the next 6km is uphill and in some places demanding. When Athletes reach the top of the mountain, they begin a continuous downhill course with steep and technical turns (attention is required here). They pass through the village of Koliaki and just before the 13th km, they turn right at the intersection Porto Heli – Lygourio (attention is required here). In the next 10 kilometers, athletes will cycle on a mostly positive elevation route before reaching the village of Adami. After passing through the village, the athletes head towards Lygourio on a steep downhill. Attention is required here as there is a sharp and dangerous right curve along the way. In less than one kilometer, athletes will have to cross LEFT at three main intersections (attention is required here).   The 1st one being the Ancient Theater to Ligourio, the 2nd one the Ancient Theater to Isthmus – Ancient Epidaurus and the 3rd one the Lygourio to Nafplio.  Athletes continue straight, right on the first exit to Hani, and right again at the next intersection which takes them to Lygourio.  At the beginning of the village, they turn left towards Ancient Epidavros. From here on, the route is slightly downhill, and great attention is recommended. Athletes must be very careful at the narrow small bridge that lies shortly after the intersection of Ancient – New Epidavros – Lygourio. Once they reach the Epidaurus-Methana round-about for 2rd time, Athletes continue straight up the hill, starting the second loop ( Koliaki, Adami, Ligourio, Epidaurus).  Once the complete the second loop and they reach at the Epidaurus-Methana round-about for 3rd time, they turn left towards Epidaurus – returning to transition zone.  Attention is required, when athletes shortly before they finish, they have to make a 90 ° right turn from the main street to a narrow road (intersection at Tavern Perivoli).

Run: 18km

On leaving the transition zone, athletes turn Left onto the coastal paved road marked with a “RUN Endurance” sign, leading to Vagonia beach, while passing by the promenade, cafes and next to the finish line. When they arrive at Vagonia beach, they must follow the signs and markings, which take them into the Polemarcha trail path, Attention, at one point the trail path takes the athletes to a dirt-road where they run until the U turn sign and back again from the same dirt-road which takes them to the continuation of the trail path and back to Vagonia Beach and from there to exit run of the transition zone – basically at the point where the athletes started running, completing approximately the first 8km.  In order to finish their race, athletes must complete two loops of approximately 5km each. Therefore, they continue straight onto the coastal paved road, right on the dirt-road to the small theater of Epidaurus and then they continue by following the markings on the pavement. In order to complete the first 5km loop, athletes will have to make two U turns (one at the intersection to Yalasi and the second at Gliatis beach – sunken city) before they start their first return passing by the small theater, and the soccer field (transition zone). Shortly before the end of the soccer field, and while the athletes have completed the first 5km loop, there will be another U turn, indicating the starting point of the second 5km loop, which should be executed in the same way, before the athletes head back following the signs and by passing by the small theater of Epidaurus, running on the coastal paved road outside the soccer field (transition zone), in front of the cafes and finally to the finish line, which is located between the park and the pier.
